Collaborative Project: 2D Design

Collaborative Project

This project introduces students to the collaborative process and to identity as a theme in contemporary work. Students were asked to work as a group to create a large scale mosaic out of torn pieces of paper. The students were introduced to contemporary artists who explore identity as a theme in their work. Students were instructed to reflect with their group members upon the theme of identity throughout the process of creating their mosaic. They were directed to document their process by creating a short video.

Drawing IV, Fall 2013

Students in Art 222 (Drawing IV) build on the techniques and approaches to figure drawing acquired in Drawing III.  Their focus is to build a series of drawings exploring the student's interests and personal approach to drawing.  Students engage with formal and technical concerns in their work while exploring content, intent and approach.

Here is the work of two Drawing IV students from this semester.
